Dear
Brothers,
I am
writing to update you on the new PA Alpha chapter house and some
upcoming fraternity events. Chapter President Jonah Hatfield is making
preparations, with help from Dean Jerry Stebbins, to physically move the
brothers and fraternity regalia into the new house on Chestnut Street at
the start of the fall 2007 semester. For any of you that live or travel
to Washington, the house is on the corner of College and Chestnut
streets, across from the Gym. Attached is a photo.
Dean
Stebbins has assured me that the Phi Kappa Psi Greek letters will be on
the house when school starts this fall.
In an
attempt to raise some money for the Chapter to use for the $1,000
"parlor fee" assessed by the college, and to properly decorate the new
chapter room, we have planned some "fundraising" activities that should
be both fun and beneficial to the current chapter and members of the
Alumni.
First, we
have set a date for the Phi Psi PA Alpha Golf Outing, a once annual
tradition that we are attempting to bring back. We have booked the
outing for Saturday, September 29, 2007, at Grandview Golf Club in North
Braddock, PA (Just outside Pittsburgh). The golf will start around
1:00pm, and will be followed by a banquet/dinner. I will send a
follow-up e-mail in the next two weeks with the actual invitation
attached and more details including the cost, and sponsorship
opportunities for Alumni.
The outing
is a little later this year than it has been in the past, but it was the
best I could do with getting married and Jonah traveling to Tennessee in
the middle of July to represent PA Alpha at the Phi Psi Woodrow Wilson
Leadership Conference (Great job, Jonah).
In the
meantime, I have set up a hotmail account for the outing:
phipsigolfouting@hotmail.com.
Please send
me an e-mail to that address if you are interested in attending or
helping out with the outing, or if you would like to discuss sponsoring
a hole/competition at the outing. It is important that we have strong
Alumni participation and support, so please try to actively participate!
Also, won't it be fun to golf with your old buddies in an attempt to
support your beloved Frat? It's a win-win situation for everyone!
The week
following the outing, October 5th-7th, is Homecoming weekend at W&J. We
are in the process of planning some Homecoming festivities at the new
house, and we will get you a more detailed schedule of homecoming events
in the future, so please mark your calendars. This will be the first
opportunity for most Alumni to see the new house, so please try to
attend!
I look
forward to seeing you at one or both of these fall events. And please,
spread the word to any alumni that you speak with.

we need to keep updating our e-mail list with brother's e-mails, so send
